Keynote Speaker at Content Rising - Farhana Yamin

Every conference loves a powerful keynote speech – and Content Rising definitely received one.

Lawyer and climate justice activist Farhana Yamin spoke about the challenges and opportunities of reframing ‘climate’. Here’s what I picked out from Farhana's vibrant address to the audience:

"Think BIG, Talk BIG and Dream"...

  • There is power in the collective and individual inner work will be needed
  • A ‘caring economy’ is what the world needs
  • Challenge, shake (things up) and be courageous
  • Climate campaigners have ‘won’ the generational, intellectual and conceptual argument
  • Think BIG, Talk BIG and dream
  • Rehearse the future (the power is in what we do now,  in the present).

Farhana quoted author and social activist Arundhati Roy (from the World Social Forum, 2003):

“Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathe.”
